Canal Run takes place Saturday, July 18, 2026 in Hancock, Michigan at 400 Quincy St, Hancock, MI 49930. The event offers multiple running and walking distances, adaptive categories, and a kids dash.

Racing is chip timed by Superior Timing. Participants receive a commemorative Canal Run t-shirt, and the race provides water stations on course, a medical station at the finish with medical personnel, and free downloadable race photos. The half marathon features unique awards and medals for overall and age group winners.
The event includes age rules: entrants must be at least 16 to compete in the half marathon and at least 13 to compete in the 10 mile run. All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the five mile run and the two mile fun run. There are no age requirements for walking events.
The Canal Run operates as a self sustaining event and, since 2011, the organizing committee has donated over $30,000 to area nonprofit organizations through its Canal Run Gives Back program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
