Canal Path Classic
The Canal Path Classic is the first annual running event held at Fort Herkimer Church and organized by the Mohawk Youth and Family Center. The event takes place on the Erie Canalway Trail in Mohawk, NY, and is staged entirely on the trail.
The race program includes the following distances:
- 5k run/walk
- 10k run
The course is described as flat, scenic, and traffic free, running along the Erie Canalway Trail. Each entry includes a commemorative t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5k and the 10k. In the 5k, the top three male and female youth finishers will also receive awards. The organizer notes that awards may be expanded in future editions to include age group prizes.
A portion of the event proceeds will be donated back to the Mohawk Youth and Family Center. Registration opens on June 16, 2026 and closes on August 27, 2026. The registration fee for each race is $30.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
