Fundraising for the event supports Wellspring Alberta. Wellspring Alberta provides programs and services at no charge to people living with cancer and their families. The provincial organization resulted from a merger of the Calgary and Edmonton centres in 2022 and traces its origins to a foundation established in Toronto in 1992.
