Event Overview
Camp Shamrocked: The Unlucky Run is a moonlit running event taking place in Long Beach, California. Scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2026, the race features a course set along the oceanfront path near Belmont Pier. The event incorporates a theme that blends Friday the 13th superstition with St. Patrick's Day elements, featuring glowing green markers, fog effects, and a nighttime atmosphere.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5K (The Campfire Dash): Consisting of one loop.
- 10K (The Counselor’s Run): Consisting of two 5K out-and-back segments.
- Half Marathon (The Final Run): Consisting of three 4.36-mile loops.
Course and Experience
The routes are held on pedestrian-friendly, car-free beach paths and trails. This is a USATF-certified course with chip timing provided for all participants. The event is open to runners and walkers of all paces. On-course water stations are located at each turnaround point to provide hydration.
Following the race, a finish line festival includes a live DJ, green glow effects, and a campfire-themed celebration. Participants receive finisher medals, and awards are available for top overall and age group finishers. The event also features a costume contest encouraging participants to dress as leprechauns or other themed characters.
