Fell Race in Calver Village
The Calver Peak is an established fell racing event held in Calver Village, located near Bakewell. The competition follows a course that spans approximately 8 km (5 miles) and features an ascent of 275 meters (900 feet). As a Category B short race, the route takes participants over the limestone landscapes situated to the south-west of the village.
The event is restricted to competitors aged 18 and over. The course is described as potentially suitable for those new to fell running. Participation is limited to a maximum of 300 entrants. Registration is available through pre-entry or by cash payment on the day of the event, provided the runner limit has not been reached.
Logistics and facilities for the race include:
- 8 km distance with 275 m of elevation gain.
The event assembly point is located at the Derwentwater Arms car park. Due to the temporary closure of that venue, the prize giving ceremony and toilet facilities are located at the Calver Arms.
