4th Annual Call to Duty Memorial
The Call to Duty Memorial features two distinct road races held in Gorham, New Hampshire. Participants can choose between two distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
The 10 km event follows a USATF certified course (# NH23006BK) that was previously utilized for the James Gang 10K. This route is notable for its significant elevation drop, featuring a decline of 574 feet from the start line to the finish. The 10 km race begins on Route 16 near the Great Gulf Wilderness Trailhead in Greens Grant.
The 5 km race, which is not certified at this time, starts at the US Forest Service Ranger Station located at 300 Glen Road. Both courses conclude at the Gorham Common by the information booth. The event is open to runners, walkers, joggers, and those with strollers.
Water stations and medical personnel are positioned along the marked courses, and volunteers provide direction at various stages. All proceeds from the event support the Call to Duty Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to students pursuing careers in public safety and maintains a memorial honoring fallen officers.
Parking is available at the finish area at Gorham Common. A shuttle service operates to transport participants from the finish area to their respective starting lines prior to the commencement of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
