California Gold Rush Trail Run - Fall
The event takes place entirely inside Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, California, at 310 Back Street. Courses run on a mix of singletrack dirt trails and some paved sections, with sections of rolling hills, flat meadows, and moderately technical ascents and descents with switchbacks. Scenic views and local wildlife are present along the routes.

Course format: all distances follow a 5K loop around much of the park before longer routes continue on additional loops and a steep half-mile fire road. The 5K gains about 600 ft, the 10K about 1,286 ft, the 15K about 1,834 ft, and the half marathon about 2,493 ft of ascent. The course is well marked with signs at intersections, chalk lines in key locations, and mile markers; a halfway sign marks the half marathon midpoint. Course marshals are stationed at key intersections and organizers request bibs be visible so marshals can direct runners.
Two fully stocked aid stations and an additional water stop are available on course. The event is held rain or shine, no strollers are allowed, and the overall time limit is 4.5 hours. Parking is in the North Beach lot with a $10 fee; Golden Poppy passes are accepted. Finishers of the 5K, 10K, 15K, and half marathon receive a medal.
