Event details
The Calgary Police Classic is a fall road race organized by Run Calgary that starts and finishes at Cowboys Park in Calgary. The 2026 event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026 and offers both an in-person race and a virtual race experience that runs from Sept 20 to Oct 18. Distances available include:
- Kids Race
- 8 km
- 21.1 km (Half Marathon)
The Kids Race is for youth up to age 12. The 8 km lists no minimum age. The half marathon has a minimum age of 14. Strollers are permitted in the 8 km and 21.1 km. The half-marathon course is described as fast and flat.
What is included and policies
In-person participants receive a long-sleeve technical shirt, a chip-timed race, a personalized bib if registered before Sept 6, results leaderboard, awards for top finishers, free bag and bike check, aid stations (every 3 km for the half marathon; every 4 km for the 8 km), food and drink at a post-race festival, professional photos, and on-course entertainment. Kids in the in-person Kids Race receive a finisher medal; 8 km and half-marathon participants may add an optional finisher medal at registration. Virtual participants receive a long-sleeve technical shirt, finisher medal, and virtual results leaderboard.
All entry fees are non-refundable except for entrants who purchase Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection. If the in-person event is cancelled, 2026 in-person entrants will be transferred to the virtual event. Distance and participant transfers are allowed with online and in-person deadlines noted in the event FAQ.
