Event overview
The Calgary Police Classic is a fall road race organized by Run Calgary. The 46th running takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, with the start and finish at Cowboys Park in Calgary. The event offers an in-person race on that date and a virtual race option that runs from September 20 to October 18. The event raises funds for the Calgary Police Youth Foundation and has raised over $146,000 to date.
Race distances, entries and what is included
Distances offered:
- Kids Race - for ages 2-12
- 8 km
- Half Marathon (21.1 km) - age minimum 14+
Strollers are permitted in the 8 km and 21.1 km races. All in-person entrants receive a long-sleeve technical shirt, chip timing, a personalized bib if registered before the bib cutoff (Sept 6), results leaderboard, awards for top finishers, free bag and bike check, aid stations (every 3 km for the half marathon, every 4 km for the 8 km), on-course entertainment and a post-race festival with food and drink. Kids race participants receive a finisher medal. Medals for the 8 km and 21.1 km are available as an optional add-on. Virtual participants receive a long-sleeve technical shirt, finisher medal and a virtual results leaderboard. Pricing includes processing fees; 5% GST is added to entry fees. Entry fees are non-refundable except for participants enrolled in the Race Roster refund protection program. Transfers between distances and participants are allowed under stated deadlines.
