Caithness Half Marathon
The Caithness Half Marathon is a road running event organized by North Highland Harriers. The event follows a circular path that begins and ends in the village of Watten. Participants run an undulating route consisting of 21.1 km (half marathon) primarily on quiet, single-track country lanes in the vicinity of Loch Watten.
Registration and number collection take place at the Watten Village Hall. The facility provides access to indoor toilets and public toilets located immediately outside, though the hall does not have shower facilities. Due to limited parking availability at the venue, car sharing is encouraged for those traveling to the event. The starting line is situated a short walking distance from the village hall.
The event is open to runners aged 17 and older. Participants compete for various prizes, including trophies and medals for finishers, alongside a selection of spot prizes. Fees are structured with a discount for Scottish Athletics members.
Distances available:
- 21.1 km
The course is designed as a scenic loop through the local countryside, utilizing the rural road network surrounding the loch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
