About the race
The Cabbage Patch 10 is a road race held in Twickenham with the Race HQ at the Cabbage Patch pub on London Road. The event is run over a 10 mile course that begins in the centre of Twickenham, crosses the River Thames at Kingston and Richmond bridges, and finishes at York House. The route is mostly on roads and paved footpaths and includes the Richmond river path.
Sport Systems provides chip timing and records both a personal time (chip to chip) and a race time. Official results and prizes are awarded in race time order. Cash prizes are offered in the men’s and women’s races, and team awards are presented for the first men’s and women’s teams. All finishers receive the event’s wooden race medal; entrants may order a race t-shirt and may request a tree to be planted instead.
Race packs, including numbers and timing chips, are not posted to entrants; they are available for collection in the days before the event and from the Race HQ on race day. There is a baggage store at the Race HQ but organisers cannot accept responsibility for loss. There are no changing facilities at the Race HQ; toilets are available at the Race HQ and at local cafes and pubs with signage for runners.
Headphones and similar devices are not permitted on the course except where medical guidance allows alternatives that leave the ear clear. The event has a history dating back to 1982 and has raised over £200,000 for local charities, with donations distributed from recent races.
