BYU Homecoming Cougar Run
The BYU Homecoming Cougar Run is hosted at the Clarence Robison Track at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The event includes a community 5K run and a series of organized kids races held on the university track, with the finish line on the track in front of the main stands.
Kid race distances and age groups:
- 200 m for ages 1 to 4
- 400 m for ages 5 to 6
- 800 m for ages 7 to 9
- one mile for ages 10 to 12
Members of the BYU track team participate by encouraging and escorting children in the kids races.
The 5K follows a revised campus course due to construction. The route starts on the track, circles the north part of campus, continues through campus, loops the south part of campus, and returns to the track for the finish.
Registration fee structure is specified for three periods:
- Early registration until September 27: Kid races $6, 5K $20.
- Main registration until October 9 at 4:30 pm: Kid races $10, 5K $25.
- Late registration on race morning: Kid races $20, 5K $30.
Online registration is open until October 9 at 4:30 pm MDT. A full complement of shirts and sizes is available through September 20; after that date sizes are limited. Bib and shirt pickup is available at the track before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
