Buxton Half Marathon
The Buxton Half Marathon is a single-lap road race organized by the Buxton Athletic Club in the United Kingdom. The event follows a course with a total ascent of 1508ft/460m, characterizing it as a hilly route conducted entirely on paved roads.
The race starts at the Buxton Opera House and takes participants out of the town for an initial climb along Axe Edge. As the route continues through country lanes, it passes several landmarks including Chrome Hill, Dowel Dale, and Park House Hill. After completing further climbs, the course returns to the town center for a finish at Pavilion Gardens.
Participation is open to runners aged 18 and over. The event capacity is limited, with entries accepted until the morning of the race. The registration fee is reduced for UKA affiliated athletes. The start and finish area is located at Pavilion Gardens on St. Johns Road, postcode SK17 6BE.
