Buttevant RC 4 Mile Road Race
The event is a 4 mile looped road race in Buttevant on 24 May 2026. The course starts on the R580 at the end of town on the Kanturk road and follows a loop that turns left onto New Street, left onto the R522, then left at The Crossroads to return past the start and finish near the Buttevant GAA pitch. The route includes climbs between miles 2 and 3.
Parking is available near Race HQ at the Buttevant GAA Complex. An off-road warm up area is provided around the pitch. Chip timing is used and an AAI permit has been granted.
Prizes are awarded to the first three men and first three women, with additional category prizes. Course record bonuses are offered for the first male and first female finishers; the current record times on the course are 19.49 and 23.22 respectively. A team prize is awarded to the club whose first four finishers place highest, including a cash prize and a perpetual trophy for the year.
The race is the final event in the Rebel Diamond League, which is running its third year with participation from local clubs including Mount Hillary AC, Dromahane Road Runners, Bweeng Trail Blazers AC and Buttevant RC. Post race hospitality and prize giving take place in the GAA Hall. Limited commemorative t-shirts are available for the club tenth anniversary and a commemorative mug is offered to those who complete all four league races.
