About the race
Buttevant RC 4 Mile Road Race takes place on Sunday 23 May 2027. The event is listed as pending permit approval.
The course is a 4 mile looped road route with climbs between miles 2 and 3. The route runs from the R580 at the end of town on the Kanturk road, turns left onto New Street, left onto the R522, then left at The Crossroads and returns to the R580 past the start point before a final left and finish near the Buttevant GAA pitch.
Race headquarters are at the Buttevant GAA Complex where parking is available. An off road warm up area is provided around the pitch. Post race hospitality and the prize giving will be held in the GAA Hall.
Prizes are offered for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, plus category prizes. Course record bonuses are offered for the first male and first female; the listed course record times are 19.49 for male and 23.22 for female. A team prize and perpetual trophy are available for the club with the first four finishers in the highest combined positions.
This event serves as the final race of the Rebel Diamond League in its fourth year. Local clubs involved in the league include Mount Hillary AC, Dromahane Road Runners, Bweeng Trail Blazers AC and Buttevant RC. A commemorative mug is provided to runners who complete all four Rebel Diamond League races.
