About the race
Butterfly Run Prince Rupert is an inaugural memorial walk/run held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Rotary Waterfront Park in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The event is organized by Butterfly Support Network to create community, raise awareness, and fundraise for programs that support people who have experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss. All proceeds go to Butterfly Support Network to help provide services for bereaved parents across BC.
Distances offered:
- 5 km run/walk
- 3 km run/walk
Children under 12 may participate free of charge but must be registered; children-size t-shirts are available for purchase for CA$15 at registration. Adult registrations include a race kit and a t-shirt by default; participants may opt out of the race kit or t-shirt during registration. The deadline to guarantee a preferred adult t-shirt size is September 1; children’s shirts may not be available after that date.
Race signage will mark the routes, and participants may choose the shorter walk route or return part way through the run loop at any time. Parking is available at Rotary Waterfront Park and along Bill Murray Drive at 1st Avenue. Race registrations are non-refundable. If the event becomes entirely virtual due to circumstances beyond the organizers’ control, refunds will not be issued but race kits and shirts will still be provided to registrants.
