Butte Challenge in Hermiston, OR
The Butte Challenge is an annual community walk and run held in Hermiston, Oregon, now in its 26th year. The event takes place at Butte Park and the road courses loop through the streets and neighborhoods surrounding Hermiston Butte. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Hermiston Cross Country program and youth running in Hermiston.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- 10K run
- Free kids mile, no registration required
The 5K and 10K fields are chip timed. Bib pickup is provided. Hermiston Cross Country athletes assist at the finish area by handing out water and goodie bags. Finishers receive custom Butte medals and a gift bag. Participants who pre register are entered into drawings for door prizes donated by local sponsors; winners collect door prizes after the event. Technical event T shirts are available for purchase if ordered before May 30. A family package is offered for immediate family entries.
