Burrator 10K
The Burrator 10K takes place at Burrator Reservoir, with the event base at Burrator Discovery Centre in Devon. The programme includes a road 10 km race and trail support races for children. Entry numbers are limited because of the parking situation.
The 10 km course is almost all on tarmac, runs on closed roads and starts on the dam bridge. The route begins about 1 km southeast of the visitor centre, completes one full loop of the reservoir and two thirds of a second loop before finishing about 400 metres north of the visitor centre. Total ascent on the course is about 90 metres. A UK licence has been applied for and the event will be run under UK Athletics rules, with results appearing on Power of 10. The course has a measurement certificate and professional chip timing.
Event services include finishers medals, prizes for category winners, professional event photography, first aid cover, public liability insurance and portable toilets. Parking instructions and additional downloads appear in the race manual.
Support races for children are run on trails and use chip timing, a finishing arch and podium presentations. There are four youth categories: Under 8s, 8-9, 9-11 and 12-14.
