Burrator 10K
The Burrator 10K is a measured road race held around Burrator Reservoir, based at Burrator Discovery Centre. The course is almost entirely on tarmac, runs on fully closed roads and has about 90 metres of total climbing. The organiser states the start is on the Dam bridge, the route completes one full loop and two-thirds of a second loop, and finishes about 400 metres north of the visitor centre. The event holds a Racecheck Silver Award (2023) and is UK Athletics licensed, with results published on Power of 10.
Entry numbers are limited because of parking constraints; full parking details are provided in the race manual and the organiser offers a parking discount for people who park at Yelverton and cycle in. The event uses professional electronic chip timing and provides medals for all finishers. Professional event photographs are supplied (free with a Sportiva Events logo at social media resolution; high-resolution downloads without watermark are available for an extra charge). Prize categories cover overall, junior, senior and a range of veteran age groups. Medical cover, public liability insurance and portable toilets are provided on site.
Distances:
- 10 km road race, one full loop plus two-thirds of a second loop.
- 2 km trail race for children aged 8 to 14.
- 1 km trail race for children aged 3 to 7.
The children’s races use chip timing, include a finishing arch and podium presentations; the kids course is on trails and is uphill out and downhill on the return. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
