Burrator 10K

The Burrator 10K is a measured road race held around Burrator Reservoir on largely tarmac surfaces and fully closed roads. The course makes one full circuit of the reservoir and then about two thirds of a second circuit to finish at exactly 10 km a short distance from the visitor centre; the start is positioned on the dam bridge. The route includes approximately 90 metres of climbing.

The organisers have applied for a UK Athletics licence and plan to run the event under England Athletics rules; results will appear on Power of 10. Race services listed by the organiser include professional electronic chip timing, distance markers, a water station with gels, free professional event photographs, and medals for all finishers. Category prizes, first aid cover and public liability insurance are provided. Parking details and additional instructions are published in the race manual, and entry numbers are limited because of parking constraints.

Support races for children accompany the main event. Distances offered:

  • 10K
  • 2K (ages 8 to 14)
  • 1K (ages 3 to 7)

Children’s races feature chip timing, a finishing arch and podium presentations; the kids course is on trails and is uphill on the outward leg and downhill on the return. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
