Event Overview
The Burrator 10K takes place at the Burrator Reservoir in Yelverton. The event features a course consisting of a fast, flat route on fully closed roads. The surface is almost entirely tarmac, providing a consistent terrain for participants. This race is UK Athletics licensed and conducted under England Athletics rules, with results submitted to the Power of 10.
The route begins directly on the Dam bridge, located approximately 0.5 miles south east of the visitor centre. The course layout involves one complete loop of the reservoir followed by two-thirds of a second loop. The finish line is situated a few hundred metres from the event headquarters at the visitor centre. The total elevation gain for the 10 km course is 90 metres.
Available distances include:
- 10 km for participants aged 15 and over.
- 2 km for participants aged 8 to 14.
- 1 km for participants aged 3 to 7.
The event provides professional electronic chip timing and free professional event photos for all participants. The course includes distance markers and a water station equipped with gels.
