Bure Valley 10 Miles : event summary
The BVH 10 mile road race takes place on quiet country lanes in and around the village of Banningham, Norfolk, and finishes on the village green opposite the Banningham Crown Pub. The 2026 running marks the event's tenth anniversary and features a special anniversary medal, spot prizes drawn before the race, and an award for anyone who has completed all ten races.
Prizes for individual finishers are cash awards of £50.00 for first place, £30.00 for second and £20.00 for third in both male and female categories. Free entry to the 2027 race is offered to the first male and female in the 17-39 category and to the first male and female in each 5-year age band from 40+ to 75+. Only one individual prize may be won per person.
Team prizes are awarded on accumulated time with three to score; the first senior male and female teams and the first masters male and female teams each receive £20.00. A £50.00 cash bonus applies for setting a new course record; existing best times are Men 52:45 and Ladies 59:39. The race has a 2 hour cutoff.
Headphones of any kind are not permitted as the course is on open roads and not closed to traffic; wearing them results in disqualification. No wheeled vehicles, dogs or following cycles are allowed and the course is not suitable for wheelchair athletes. The event is run under UKA rules, licence number 31542. Entry categories list affiliated entry at £21.10 and unaffiliated entry at £23.10.
