Bure Valley 10 Miles
The 10 Miles road race takes place on narrow country lanes throughout the village of Banningham in Norfolk. The course utilizes open public roads that are not closed to vehicular traffic. Because of the route conditions and the need to hear marshal instructions, participants are prohibited from wearing any form of headphones, including bone conducting devices. Participants found using such devices will be disqualified.
The event marks its 10th anniversary with a route that concludes on the Banningham village green, located across from the local pub. A strictly enforced cut-off time of 2 hours applies to all participants. Due to the nature of the course, wheeled vehicles, dogs, and following cycles are not allowed, and the route is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.
Runners compete under UKA rules for various recognitions, including a unique 10-year commemorative medal for all finishers. Special awards are available for individuals who have completed all ten editions of the race. Additionally, performance bonuses are offered for breaking the existing course records, which currently stand at 52:45 for men and 59:39 for women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
