Event overview
The Buffalo Marathon Weekend takes place May 23-24, 2026 in Buffalo, New York. The weekend includes multiple events:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- Community Kids Race (ages 1-8)
- Community Diaper Dash (ages 2 and under)
- The Ruffalo
2026 is the event's 25th anniversary. The course is a certified Boston Marathon qualifier and runs through streets, parks and waterways in Buffalo.
Registration, fees and policies
Listed entry fees include $135 for the Marathon, $120 for the Half Marathon, and $40 for the 5K events. The Community Kids Race and Diaper Dash list a $10 entry fee that increases to $15 after specified registration thresholds. Age eligibility is published for each event (for example Marathon ages 18-99, Half Marathon ages 13-99, 5K ages 5-99). Processing fees are being paid by the Buffalo Marathon.
Registration changes such as deferrals, race transfers and participant transfers close April 30, 2026. There are no refunds. Optional registration insurance is available at 7.5% of the registration cost (minimum $8.99); insurance must be purchased at registration. Insurance benefits are underwritten by Jefferson Insurance Company and administered by AGA Service Company.
Place and charity
The event hub is the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin Street, Buffalo, NY 14202. Several events list 100% of proceeds to benefit the Children's Hospital. A named charity partner is Kaleida Health Foundation, with a stated fundraising goal of $150,000 and $1,513 raised by 57 donors at the time shown.
