Buckeye Ultra 200 Mile Road Race
The Buckeye 200 is an approximately 203 mile road run from Walnut Beach at Lake Erie to Wellsville, Ohio, run as an out and back. The course includes long flat segments and about 70 miles of rolling hills, with just under 6,000 feet of total climb. A six day time limit requires an average of about 34 miles per day.
Distances:
- 203 miles out and back from Walnut Beach to Wellsville
- 100 miles begins at Wellsville Nicholson Stadium and finishes at Walnut Beach
This is an open road event with no official aid stations; runners will depend on their crew or local services for supplies. Crews are encouraged because some overnight sections have limited resources, but self-supported finishes are possible. Participants who cannot complete the course must self-extract and may experience delays arranging transport back to their vehicle. Stores, diners, and shops are generally available between about 6am and 9–10pm. Several towns with hotels are located along the route, including Austinburg, Warren, Salem, and Lisbon.
Finishers receive a large Buckeye 200 buckle and a unique finisher award. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers. Course routing largely follows Ohio Route 45 and final maps are posted on the event social page and emailed to entrants. For 2026 entries, twenty dollars from each paid entry will be donated to the Wellsville high school athletic department. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
