BTC Statue to Statue 15k - Birmingham, AL
The BTC Statue to Statue 15K is a point to point road race held in Birmingham and Mountain Brook, Alabama. The event is in its 34th year and starts near the Vulcan statue and finishes near a Statue of Liberty landmark, passing through residential neighborhoods.
The course profile is described as gently rolling and generally downhill for the first six miles. After that section runners encounter two significant uphill segments. Those climbs are followed by a roughly one and a half mile downhill finish. The race organizer provides free transportation from the finish area to the start for participants who park at the finish; there is no transportation from the finish back to the start after the race.
Participants receive a gender specific shirt designed for the event. Registration by March 22 is required to guarantee receiving a shirt. The event is hosted by the Birmingham Track Club and is part of the BTC Race Series, a specially priced bundle of four races organized by the club.
