B'sorah Scatter Run Orienteering
B'sorah Scatter Run is a time-limited orienteering event held at B'sorah Farm in Mogale, North West, on Hartebeeshoek Road, Broederstroom. It follows a "Scatter Run" or rogaine style format in which individuals or teams use a map and optionally a compass to visit as many checkpoints as possible within an allotted time. Points are awarded for checkpoints and points are deducted for each minute returned after the chosen time limit.
Terrain at B'sorah includes open rocky bushveld, wooded and semi-wooded areas, and rocky koppies with a network of tracks and paths. Navigation difficulty is described as moderate to tricky; a compass and leg protection are recommended. The event uses the SPORTident electronic timing system and SI chip hire is included in the entry fee. Toilets are available near the parking and start/finish area, and refreshments are on sale at the B'sorah caravan café. There is limited water on the course, so participants should arrange to carry their own water for the duration of their entry. Final instructions are sent to entered participants on Friday 24 July.
