Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k
The event comprises a 10 km race and a 2 km fun run set in Caerphilly on Crescent Road. The races take place in and around the town centre with views of the medieval castle that forms a prominent backdrop.
The course starts and finishes on Crescent Road and is described as relatively flat with some undulating sections. The route passes local landmarks including the giant cheese sculpture and the Tommy Cooper statue while moving through town streets.
Around 3,000 runners are expected to take part, drawing participants from across the country. Course best times are recorded at 29 minutes 12 seconds for the overall record and 34 minutes 58 seconds for the female record.
The event is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council and is supported by Welsh Athletics and Sport Wales.
