Event Overview
The BRRC St. Paddy's Five Miler returns to Spokane Community College for its 44th year. The event takes place on an out and back route starting from the college campus. Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 5 Miles
- 50 Meters (Lucky Leprechaun Jig)
The 5 Mile race serves as an official second seed qualifying event for Bloomsday. To qualify for the second seeding, men must complete the course in 31 minutes or less, while women must finish in 37 minutes or less. Water stations are located at the turnaround point and the finish line. Restrooms are available for participants in the gymnasium building.
Youth Event
The Lucky Leprechaun Jig is a free run of approximately 50 meters designed specifically for children aged 6 years and under. All participants in this distance receive a ribbon upon completion. While the run is free, youth-sized shirts are available for separate purchase if ordered by the designated deadline.
Awards and Recognition
An awards ceremony follows the races to recognize top performers. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top male and female finishers in the masters (40+) category. Additionally, the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over receive recognition. The event also includes prize drawings, including a cash prize, for participants who remain present after the ceremony. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
