Race The Lake Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K : Cooperstown, NY
Race The Lake on June 6, 2026 takes place at Glimmerglass State Park and uses roads around Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, NY. Distances offered include:
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K
- 5K
The marathon and half marathon routes circle Otsego Lake and pass local landmarks such as the Otesaga Hotel, The Farmers’ Museum, The Fenimore Art Museum, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The lake remains on runners' right for much of the route. Both the marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified and may be used for Boston Marathon qualification. The 5K and 10K start and finish inside Glimmerglass State Park, with most of those courses routed through the park’s natural setting.
Courses are supported by local volunteers, bicycle patrols, frequent aid stations no more than two miles apart offering items like Gu, Honey Stingers, Powerade, and water, and electronic safety signs and law enforcement on the route. Restroom facilities are provided along the courses.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal and a post-race lunch is included for participants. Runners who register by mid-May 2026 are guaranteed a tech shirt. Awards include overall male and female winners and top three age-group finishers for the marathon and half marathon, and top place awards for the 5K and 10K.
