Broken Sword Triathlon & Kid's Tri
The Broken Sword Triathlon in Clarksville, Arkansas takes place over two days and includes a Sprint triathlon with individual and relay options, a virtual Sprint option, and three children's divisions for ages 6 to 15. The event benefits Clarksville Parks & Recreation.
Distances for the event include:
- Sprint: Swim 500 m, Bike 15 miles, Run 5K.
- Kids Intro (ages 6-8): Swim 25 m, Bike 1 mile, Run 0.5 miles.
- Kids Intermediate (ages 9-12): Swim 125 m, Bike 1.85 miles, Run 1 mile.
- Kids Advanced (ages 13-15): Swim 175 m, Bike 3.7 miles, Run 1 mile.
The swim is open water at Lake Ludwig, starting from a beach area and finishing at the boat ramp on a buoy-marked loop. The bike course uses paved roads through the Ozark foothills, passing downtown and the University of the Ozarks and returning to downtown via rolling country roads. The run is an out-and-back on the Spadra Creek Nature Trail on a flat paved surface through pasture and wooded areas, finishing downtown.
Participant parking is available at Lake Ludwig near the swim start. A shuttle runs between the start area and the downtown finish for participant and spectator pickup. Packet pickup is available the day before at Clarksville City Hall and on race morning near the swim transition. Race entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
