Brockagh Mountain Run
Brockagh is a mountain running event held in County Wicklow. The race takes place on a route that is fully marked, and the use of GPS devices is permitted for navigation. Participants traverse moderate terrain with significant elevation changes. Registration for the event is located at the parking area above St. Kevin's National School in Laragh, while the official prizegiving is held at Lynhams.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 9.90 km main route with 414 m of climbing
- 4.80 km short course with reduced elevation
The event adheres to a specific mandatory kit requirement known as Level B. All runners must bring a waterproof jacket, a hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with emergency numbers stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. These items are subject to random checks, and the final kit required to be carried during the run is confirmed on the day based on weather conditions.
Parking is restricted to the Derrybawn car park in Laragh, which is approximately 1 km away from the registration area. A small fee is charged for parking, with proceeds donated to Mountain Rescue. The event has a total entry limit of 200 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
