Event overview
Beyond Bristol takes place in Bristol on 28 March 2026. Both routes start and finish at Museum Square (BS1 4RN). The event offers two distance options:
- 55 km Ultra
- 25 km Trail
Entries include a finishers' medal, chip timing, fully waymarked routes, GPX route files, feed stations and medical support. The event partner is Left Handed Giant, a Bristol-based brewing company.
Routes and logistics
The 55 km route follows the River Avon through the city, passes under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, climbs through Leigh Woods Nature Reserve, crosses into Clifton, then returns via the Frome Valley Way, Eastville Park, the Bristol and Bath Railway (over 10 km on the old railway) and the River Avon Trail before finishing in Museum Square. The 25 km route follows a similar line to the west of the city, passes under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, climbs through Leigh Woods, joins the Frome Valley Way, goes through Eastville Park, uses about 6 km of the Bristol and Bath Railway and follows Monarch Way back toward the river and city centre.
The 55 km route has 3 feed stations (at 14.5 km, 27.2 km and 41.1 km). The 25 km route has 1 feed station (at 14.5 km). Surface breakdowns: 55 km is about 70% paved and 30% unpaved; 25 km is about 82% paved and 18% unpaved. Age limits apply: 55 km requires minimum age 20, 25 km requires minimum age 18.
