Brisbane Road Runners Club Ekiden Team Relay
Brisbane Road Runners Club stages a BRRC Ekiden Team Relay at Orleigh Park on the Riverside Drive circuit in West End, Brisbane. The event uses a flat, accurately measured loop that starts and finishes at the SBSC Clubhouse, with longer distances covered by completing multiple laps of the circuit.
The club hosts regular road running events throughout the year, generally every second Sunday, and this relay is part of that program. Events operate under police approved permits with marshals positioned along the course. Electronic timing records lap and finish times and a digital clock is displayed at the start and finish line. Post-race provisions include free bananas and a bring your own water table.
Events are open to both club members and visitors. Club members do not pay entry fees. Registration opens online on the Monday before each event and closes at 7pm on the Saturday night prior; there are no late entries and no registration on race morning.
