About the race
Brisbane Road Runners Club (BRRC) stages regular road-running events on a flat, accurately measured circuit along Riverside Drive in West End, Brisbane, with the SBSC Clubhouse at Orleigh Park used as the usual start point. Longer distances are run as multiple laps of the same circuit. Events have police-approved permits and marshals positioned along the course. Electronic timing records lap and finish times and a digital timing clock is located at the start/finish area.
This specific event is a 3 km race on the club circuit beside the Brisbane River and is part of the club's Summer Series. Events are open to both club members and visitors; club members do not pay entry fees. Registration opens online on the Monday before each event and closes on the Saturday evening at 7:00 pm; there are no late entries or on-the-day registration.
Race-day arrangements include temporary or existing race bibs for participants, a BYO water table near the start/finish, free post-race bananas, and toilet facilities at Orleigh Park and the clubhouse. The finish line may differ from the clubhouse for some events, for example at Victoria Street / Gas Tower, so participants are advised to check the route details before the race.
