About the race
Brisbane Road Runners Club stages regular road running events on a flat, accurately measured circuit along Riverside Drive in West End, with the SBSC Clubhouse at Orleigh Park as the start/finish location. Longer distances are run as multiple laps of the same circuit. Events run throughout the year, generally every second Sunday.
Event services and controls include police-approved permits, marshals along the course, electronic timing for individual laps and finish times, and a digital timing clock at the start/finish line. Post-run bananas are provided and a bring-your-own water table is available. Members do not pay entry fees; events are open to both members and visitors.
Standard distances offered at this event are:
- 5.275 km (1 lap)
- 10.55 km (2 laps)
- 21.1 km (4 laps) Teams may form or join an Ekiden relay to complete a 42.2 km team total over 8 laps, with teams composed of 2 to 6 runners and a required team name at registration. Prize categories are listed for first all-male, first all-female, and first mixed teams, with mixed teams required to have female member(s) complete at least two of the eight laps.
Registration opens online on the Monday before each event and closes at 7 pm on the Saturday before; late entries and race morning registration are not accepted. Race bib and timing procedures differ for members and visitors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
