12th Annual Bridgewater Police 5K and 1M Kids Fun Run
The Bridgewater Police 5K and 1M Kids Fun Run returns for its twelfth year in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The event features two distinct distance options:
- 5 km
- 1 mile (Kids Fun Run)
The 5 km route is a USATF-certified course (#MA15012JK) that is relatively flat and designed for speed. Participants travel through historic downtown Bridgewater, with both the start and finish lines located at the Bridgewater Police Station on Pleasant Street. The event is limited to a total of 400 participants.
For younger runners, the 1 mile Kids Fun Run is a timed event. Children participating in this distance must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. All children who cross the finish line receive a ribbon, while runners in the 5 km receive a finisher's medal.
Registered 5 km participants receive a race t-shirt, with sizes guaranteed for those registered by mid-August. Awards and raffles are conducted following the completion of the races. Organized bib pick-up is available the evening before the race and on the morning of the event at the police station.
The primary beneficiary of the event is the Plymouth County Critical Incident Stress Management Team (PC CISM).
