Bridget’s Run : event description
Bridget’s Run is an annual community remembrance event for those affected by pregnancy and infant loss. The event brings together family, friends, and the wider community to remember babies and honour their legacies while raising funds to provide immediate support to families in crisis and to advocate against the stigma and silence surrounding these losses.
The 2026 edition takes place on October 17 at Centennial Beach Park in Barrie, ON. The event supports both in-person and virtual participation; virtual participants may choose their own course and start time. The main route is a true 5 km walk/run; this year the route was modified slightly for construction and extended past the South Shore turnaround point. Volunteers assist with guiding participants on the day.
Available distances:
- 5 km main route
- 1 km Bunny Hop
Parking information is provided for residents and non-residents, including digital waterfront permits for certain parking areas and a free South lot at Barrie By the Bay about an 8 minute walk from Centennial Beach Park. The event relies on volunteers for planning and day-of roles across marketing, bookkeeping, and on-site support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
