Event Overview
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Bridge the Gap Community 5K is a community run and walk. It takes place at Rabbit Hill Park in Dacula, Georgia. The event has an in-person 5K race and a virtual 5K option.
Course Details
The course is a 3.1-mile (5K) route within Rabbit Hill Park. Runners follow a 1.55-mile trail to a turnaround point and return on the same path. The route passes park scenery, trails, a dog park, a lake, and soccer fields.
Event Information
The event uses RFID chip timing, and results are published live. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers, and to the top three male and female participants in multiple age groups, starting from 1-10 years old up to 60+. Registration includes a short-sleeve T-shirt and a finisher challenge coin for in-person participants, though shirt size is not guaranteed for registrations after a certain date. Race bibs and swag are only available at packet pick-up on race day.
Charity and Purpose
All event proceeds benefit the Keybo Building Bridges Foundation. This foundation supports community programs run by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office. These programs include providing free backpacks and school supplies, offering meals to families, giving scholarships, and running youth mentorship and football camps.
