Event Overview
The Dyamond Fitness and Connie Dwyer Foundation breast cancer event takes place in West Orange at 1 Cherry Lane. This community event supports the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation, which provides breast health services, including screenings and treatments, to underprivileged women. The event features two main participation options:
- 5k Run
- 1 Mile Walk
The course includes a water station located just over the bridge, which participants can access during the first through third miles. For the 5k Run, strollers and dogs are permitted as spectators only due to the width of the paths. However, both dogs and strollers are allowed to participate in the 1 Mile Walk.
Participants can collect their race packets at Dyamond Fitness on South Livingston Avenue on the Saturday prior to the event. Members of the NJRun.Club are eligible for a discount on the registration fee.
After the run and walk, an informal gathering is held at McCloone's Boathouse. This post-race event is open to everyone, including non-participants. Registered runners and walkers receive a ticket for a free drink at this location. In the event of inclement weather, a rain date is scheduled for late October.
