Breakaway 8k Race
Ukee Run Club presents the third annual unsanctioned Breakaway 8k Race at The Break Cafe & Bistro in Ucluelet. The course is an approximately 8 km loop that combines road sections and trail, running through local roads and parts of the Wild Pacific Trail with both uphill and downhill stretches.
Registration takes place at the picnic tables outside The Break Cafe. After the run, there will be treats and prizes, and The Break Cafe will provide coffee and baked goods; participants are asked to bring their own mug and water bottle. The full route will be emailed to entrants before the event.
Because the event is unsanctioned, participants who want an official time should record their run with a watch or an app such as Strava. Parking near the venue is limited and carpooling is recommended. The event often sells out; participants who can no longer attend are asked to request a refund if eligible or notify the organizer so their spot can be offered to someone on the waitlist.
