Break Bread Bun Run
Break Bread Bun Run takes place on June 13, 2026, in Valdosta, Georgia, and supports the meal delivery mission of First Presbyterian Church of Valdosta. The event raises resources for Break Bread Together, a church mission that has served homebound seniors since 1973.
The event is a 5K (3.1 miles). The course begins and ends in the lower-level parking lot of the YMCA of Valdosta at 2424 Gornto Road and winds through the Old Wood Valley subdivision. Walkers are welcome, and organizers expect participants to complete the course in 60 minutes or less.
Registration carries a fee of $25.00. Awards are presented to the top two male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 11 and under; 12-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over.
Break Bread Together delivers hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday to 35 seniors who are over age 65, living on no more than $1,287 per month, and without anyone to care for them. For many recipients, volunteers are a primary source of human contact. The program notes that seniors who receive in-home support often experience longer, healthier lives, and that local need for the service is growing.
