Break Bread Bun Run

Break Bread Bun Run is a community 5K held on June 13, 2026, at the YMCA of Valdosta, located at 2424 Gornto Road, Valdosta, GA 31602. The course begins and ends in the lower-level parking lot of the YMCA and winds through the Old Wood Valley subdivision. Walkers are welcome; organizers expect most participants to finish within 60 minutes.

The event supports the meal delivery mission of First Presbyterian Church of Valdosta, a program called Break Bread Together. Since 1973, the mission has delivered hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday to local seniors who are homebound. The program serves 35 seniors who are over age 65, have limited income (no more than $1,287 per month), and lack regular in-home care. For many recipients, volunteers also provide important social contact.

Registration information for the race lists a fee of $25.00. Awards will be given to the top two male and female finishers in the following age groups: 11 and under; 12-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
