Brackley Chicken Run

The Brackley Chicken Run is a local one-lap 10 km race organised by Brackley & District Running Club. The course starts and finishes in Brackley Town Park and is staged over a mixture of roads, grass paths and trails across town and rural sections. The route leaves Brackley, passes through Turweston, loops around Turweston Airfield and returns through Turweston. The course is undulating and has distance markers every 1 km.

The event is multiterrain and is open only to runners aged over 16. The organisers state that the route is not suitable for wheelchairs or runners with buggies because parts of the surface are rough. Running with dogs is not permitted. In-ear or over-ear headphones are prohibited on open roads so marshals can be heard; bone-conducting earphones are allowed but not recommended. Entries include a memento for each runner, winners’ prizes, chip timing, supervised bag drop, nearby parking, toilets at the venue and first aid coverage. The race began in 2010 and past results are published for previous years. The organisers note that refunds cannot be provided if a participant cannot attend or if the event is cancelled due to rising organisation costs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
