Brackley 10 km Chicken Run
The Brackley Chicken Run is a local, single-lap 10 km race organised by Brackley & District Running Club. The event starts and finishes at Brackley Town Park and is held on a multiterrain course through town and rural surroundings. Distance markers are provided every 1 km and the race is for over 16s only.
The route begins on a closed road and loops out of Brackley through Turweston, circling Turweston Airfield, before returning via Turweston. The course uses a mixture of roads, grass paths and trails and is undulating in places. Because some surfaces are rough, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs or for runners with buggies. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
Race-day services include a memento for every runner, winners' prizes, chip timing, a supervised bag drop, nearby parking, toilets at the venue and first aid. In-ear and over-ear headphones are not allowed on the open-road sections; bone conduction earphones are permitted but not recommended. Entrants should note that organisers do not provide refunds if a runner cannot participate or if the event is cancelled.
The race was first held in 2010 and has been run in multiple subsequent years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
