Boyne Valley 50
The Boyne Valley 50 is a multi distance trail running event held along the Dawes Range section of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail between the Grand Hotel Many Peaks and Barrimoon on July 18, 2026. The event is a registered UTMB Index race.
Distances offered:
- 50 km full out and back to Barrimoon including the rail trail tunnels.
- 23 km Uphill from Many Peaks to Barrimoon finishing at the tunnels.
- 23 km Downhill starting at Barrimoon and running back to Many Peaks.
- 12 km taster out and back, 6 km each way.
The event precinct is based at the Grand Hotel Many Peaks on Gladstone Monto Road. Shuttle transfers are provided for the 23 km options and some parking is available along the main road. Accommodation options include camping near Builyan and Golembil sidings and other local facilities. Services in the Boyne Valley are limited and phone reception is intermittent in parts of the range.
Aid stations with water and basic nutrition are at Golembil and Barrimoon and at intermediate points for longer distances. Competitors must carry specific mandatory gear including a visible race bib, minimum water capacity by distance, a compression bandage, and a charged mobile phone for the 50 km and 23 km events.
