Event overview

Bowland Ultra 2026 takes place on Saturday 10 January 2026 at Slaidburn Village Hall, Slaidburn, Clitheroe (BB7 3ES). The event is for participants aged 18 or older. Course and logistics

The race follows an unmarked mixed route starting and finishing at Slaidburn. The course distance is 42 miles (68 km) with 5,577 ft (1,700 m) of ascent. Terrain includes vehicle tracks, flowing trails, road, technical singletrack and sections of bog. A map and route description are provided at registration; GPX files are available for the main route and a bad weather/Eco route. Organisers recommend runners carry GPS or printed maps and note that cold weather can affect device battery life.

There are four on-course aid stations offering hot drinks, soups and sandwiches, with CP3 serving a pasta meal. The entry includes on-course aid, a finishers meal and a finisher memento. Bag drop is available at race headquarters; on-course bag drops are not provided except for specific food requirements. GPS tracking for spectators is provided.
