Event Details
The Boundary Park Tri & Aquabike takes place at Boundary Water Park in Cheshire. The event is open to solo participants or teams of two to three people.
Courses
Four course formats are available:
- Standard Tri (individual)
- Sprint Tri (individual)
- Aquabike (individual)
- Standard Tri Relay (team of 2-3)
The event is draft-legal and takes place on fast, flat courses through Cheshire. The Standard Tri involves a 900m open water lake swim, a 55km bike ride (two laps), and a 10km run (two laps) on quiet public roads. The Sprint Tri halves these distances: a 450m swim, a 27km bike ride (one lap), and a 5km run (one lap). The Aquabike consists of the standard swim (900m) and bike (55km) distances only.
Registration and Logistics
On the event day, registration takes place at Allostock Village Hall (WA16 9LQ), approximately half a mile from the venue. Transition opens at Boundary Water Park. Car parking is at the Village Hall, and competitors are not permitted to park on the main roads near the venue. Race numbers and swim caps are provided at registration. Wetsuits are optional, with water temperature expected to be around 15°C.
Rules and Equipment
The event follows British Triathlon rules for draft-legal racing. For age-group competitors, clip-on bars and tri-bars are not allowed on handlebars. Standard road bikes, mountain bikes, and hybrids are welcome. Bike lights are recommended but optional. Participants should bring all necessary clothing, refreshments, and nutrition for an event duration that can range from 2.5 to 4.5 hours.
