Boundary Park Tri : Boundary Water Park, Cheshire
Boundary Park Tri is an open water triathlon held at Boundary Water Park in Cheshire. The event offers standard and sprint solo races, relay teams and an aquabike option on courses described as mainly on quiet public roads with few paths.
- Standard Tri: Swim 1 km, Bike 54 km, Run 10 km
- Sprint Tri: Swim 500 m, Bike 27 km, Run 5 km
- Aquabike: Swim 1 km, Bike 55 km
- Relay: Standard distance for teams of two to three people
The swim takes place in the lake; wetsuits are optional with water expected around 16 C. The bike course is run as draft legal and will reference British Triathlon rules. Time trial bikes are not permitted. Handlebars must be plugged, aero bars are banned, clip on limits apply, and water bottles must not be mounted on handlebars. Bike lights are recommended.
Registration and parking are located at Allostock Village Hall about half a mile from the venue; competitors may drop kit at the lake then return to park. Race numbers are issued at registration and race belts are permitted. Headphones are banned for safety and the event emphasizes self reliance. Aquabike competitors must dismount before crossing the finish line and relay change overs occur in transition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
