Boréal X-Country 2026
Boréal X-Country is the 25th edition of a cross-country race held at the Centre de socioculturel de l'Île Bizard in Montréal. The event takes place on fine-gravel trails through a wooded area on Île Bizard and offers multiple distance options.
Distances:
- 10 km
- Combo 5 km + 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 km for children
The 5 km start is on Montée de l'Église near the park entrance and is about a 10 minute walk from the socio-cultural centre. Races use a mass start and official times are based on the start signal.
The 1 km for children follows an out-and-back route on rue de l'Église. Parents are invited to accompany children if necessary. Children must be between 4 and 11 years old on race day and all children receive a participation medal.
The event is described as eco-responsible and community oriented. Awards include medals for the top three men and top three women, prizes for the first three in each age group, and various sponsor prizes. After the race there is homemade food prepared by volunteers and a themed gift for all runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
