Boots on the Meridian 5K - Cattlemen's Ball 2026
Boots on the Meridian is a community 5K and 1 Mile run and walk in Cozad, Nebraska. The event is part of the Cattlemen's Ball weekend on June 5 and 6, 2026, and the course passes under the 100th Meridian sign on Highway 30.
The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska is a 501(c)(3) charity that raises money for cancer research. Ninety percent of profits benefit the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, and ten percent are donated to local communities for health and wellness programs.
Entry fees include a soft blend T shirt and post race refreshments for registrants who register by May 21. The 5K entry fee is $30 and the 1 Mile fee is $20. Entrants after May 21 are not guaranteed a shirt on race day; a shirt will be made available for local pick up. Race day registration is accepted and packet pick up and day of registration take place at the Community Wellness Center in Cozad.
The event is open to the public and does not require a Cattlemen’s Ball ticket for participation. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women in the 5K, and to the top three girls and top three boys aged 12 and under in the 1 Mile.
