Boots on the Meridian 5K - Cattlemen's Ball 2026
Boots on the Meridian is a community 5K and 1 mile run/walk held in Cozad, Nebraska as part of the 28th Annual Cattlemen's Ball. The course runs on the streets of Cozad and passes under the 100th Meridian sign on Highway 30. The event is family friendly and open to the public; a Cattlemen's Ball ticket is not required for participation.

The Cattlemen's Ball of Nebraska operates as a 501(c)(3) charity with a mission to raise funds for cancer research. Ninety percent of event profits benefit the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, and ten percent are donated to local communities for health and wellness programs.
Entry fees are listed for each distance and include a soft blend T-shirt and post-race refreshments. Participants who register by May 21 are guaranteed an event T-shirt with their registration fee; those who register later may be offered shirts for local pick up. Packet pick-up and day-of registration take place at the Community Wellness Center in Cozad. Awards are given for the top three men and top three women in the 5K, and for the top three girls and top three boys age 12 and under in the 1 mile event.
