Event Details
The Boots On The Ground charity event takes place at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, New Jersey. The event is hosted in partnership by Lt. Charles A. Meyer American Legion Post 86 and Skylands Stadium.
Distances
Participants can choose from two distances:
- 5K - a family-oriented, pet-friendly walk or run.
- 10K - a longer run that covers the 5K course twice.
Course Information
The course is set on the flat sports campus at Skylands Stadium. The route surface is primarily asphalt, with some sections of gravel or sand, including an area inside the baseball field near the warning track.
Venue
Skylands Stadium is the home of the Sussex County Miners professional baseball team. The venue has been recently renovated and includes amenities such as a 4,200-seat stadium, concession stands, and extensive parking.
Charity Purpose
The event aims to raise awareness and support for veterans. Funds from participant fees are directed toward providing educational resources and economic support for veterans, as facilitated by the American Legion post. The organizing partners support local homeless veteran organizations, the Boy Scouts of America, student academic grants, and local first responders.
