Charity Event at Skylands Stadium
The Boots On the Ground Charity Fun Walk-Run is a sports event held at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, New Jersey. The event is hosted through a collaboration between American Legion Post 86 and the stadium. Its primary goal is to raise awareness and support for veterans transitioning to civilian life, with proceeds contributing to educational resources and economic support for the veteran community.
The race takes place on a flat sports campus. Participants will navigate a route that consists primarily of asphalt surfaces, with some sections of gravel or sand. A portion of the course includes the area inside the baseball field near the warning track. The event features two main distances:
- 5k walk or run
- 10k run
The 5k is designed as a pet-friendly and family-oriented activity. The 10k option involves completing the 5k course twice. The event begins with an Honor Guard Salute.
The host venue, Skylands Stadium, is the home of the Sussex County Miners professional baseball team. The facility includes a renovated 4,200-seat stadium and a large parking lot used for festivals and outdoor events.
