Event Overview
The Booby Bolt is an annual fundraising event organized by Pink Out for Hope, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Cheatham County, Tennessee. Held at Pleasant View Community Park, the event serves as the primary fundraiser to support breast cancer patients financially during their medical treatment. Net proceeds are directed toward local assistance, research, and increasing disease awareness. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions, proceeding in rain or shine.
Race Categories
Participants can choose from multiple participation options:
- Booby Bolt 5k: A 3.1 mile timed race for runners and walkers.
- Kids 1 Mile Fun Run: A 1 mile course specifically for children aged 12 and under.
- Survivor Recognition Walk: A dedicated segment to recognize breast cancer survivors.
- Booby Buddy: A non-participation category for individuals who wish to support the cause remotely.
Participation Details
The event follows a specific starting order where runners begin first, followed by walkers. For participants in the kids' category, one adult is permitted to run alongside each child at no additional cost. While headphones are permitted, they are not encouraged for safety reasons. Registration includes a variety of amenities, though some are subject to deadlines. Participants who register by mid-September are guaranteed an event shirt. Swag bags featuring items from local businesses are distributed to the earliest registrants while supplies last.
Logistics and Prizes
Prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers in the 5k race. All children participating in the fun run receive a medal and a t-shirt. For the safety of participants, pets are not allowed at the event. Packet pickup for shirts and bags is held at Legends Bank in Pleasant View during the days leading up to the race. Team registration is available for groups of eight or more individuals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
