Bonfyre Trail Fest
Bonfyre Trail Fest is a fall trail running event held in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea, Michigan on November 7, 2026. The event uses several forest loops and lists course distances as approximate because routes use available trails.
Distances
- 5 Mile (approx. 5.4 miles) uses part of the Winn Loop.
- 10 Mile (approx. 10.1 miles) uses parts of the Winn Loop and Big Kame Loop.
- 15 Mile (approx. 15.0 miles) uses portions of the Winn Loop, Big Kame Loop, and Green Lake Loop.
Course details note flag colors for route marking and provide an embedded course map. There is an overall five hour cutoff for all participants. Aid stations are provided on all courses and serve water, Gatorade, and GU: 5 Mile at 4.1 miles; 10 Mile at 4.1 and 9.1 miles; 15 Mile at 4.1, 8.7, and 14.1 miles.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance based on gun time, and age group awards are presented three deep in five year age groups based on chip time. Packet pickup is available Friday, November 6 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Robin Hills Farm and the morning of the race at the start area. Post race amenities include a bonfire, a beer garden with local offerings, live music, and finisher items such as a custom beanie and a campfire mug.
