Fell Race at Kettlewell

The BOFRA - Kettlewell event takes place in Upper Wharfedale within the Yorkshire Dales. The race serves as a BOFRA Championship Counter, starting from the Kettlewell Cricket Field located on the B6160. The senior course covers a distance of 2.5 km (1.6 miles) and involves an ascent of 250 m (820 ft). Classified as an AS category fell race, the route requires specific mountain skills (PM).

The event includes a variety of race categories:

  • Senior race (2.5 km) for participants aged 17 and over as of May 1st.
  • Junior races for categories U9, U12, U14, and U17.
  • Minimum age for junior participants is 6 years old on the day of the race.

Registration is managed on the day of the event, as there is no pre-entry option. Entry fees are set at £5.00 for seniors and £2.00 for junior runners. The senior race is scheduled to take place after the completion of the junior events. Practical facilities include car parking available at the venue for a fee of £3.00. The competition is held under a permit with associated UK Athletics insurance provided by the FRA. Team entries are not permitted for this event.
