Bobcat Trail Run 11 Mile
The Bobcat Trail Run is an 11 mile trail race in Thurmont, Maryland, organized by Ultrunr and held at Cunningham State Park. The course is an out and back that uses the Catoctin Blue Trail and the Cat Rock Yellow Trail, beginning at the Manor parking area and turning around at the Cat Rock trailhead on Route 77.
The route includes a steep rocky section known as "Bob's Hill," with about 800 feet of rise over 1.5 miles (approximate elevation 1,875 feet). Total elevation gain for the course is about 2,200 feet. The only aid station is at the turnaround, 5.5 miles from the start; runners return to the Start/Finish on the same trail.
Organizers provide race-day bib pickup (no pre-race pickup), a pre-race briefing, finish-area amenities that may include a fire pit and apple cider, and event photography posted after the race. Results are normally posted the same day. Entry fees are listed at $58.50 USD; refunds are permitted minus $10 until one month before the race, after which no refunds are given. Shirt quantities and sizes are ordered in advance and may be limited.
The event notes cutoffs: entrants must reach the aid station within 2.5 hours and complete the course within 5 hours. Registration closes in early November. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
