Event
The Blue Mountain Bash is a trail 5K held in the Blue Mountains in southeast Washington, within the Umatilla National Forest near Pomeroy, WA. This is the second annual running of the out-and-back course. The race starts at the Boundary Trailhead and follows the North-South Trail to a turnaround at Rose Springs SnoPark. The trail is described as wide and rolling. The event also serves as the culminating race for the SoleKids, Pomeroy spring season; SoleKids is a Boise-based non-profit for children from pre-k to 5th grade.
Logistics
The entry includes a shuttle operated by the local transportation authority from the Pomeroy High School parking lot to Boundary Campground; two shuttles run in each direction. Vault toilets are available at Boundary Campground and Rose Springs SnoPark, and an aid station with water and snacks is located at the turnaround. All finishers receive shirts and medals; registration by June 12 is recommended to guarantee a shirt. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three male and female SoleKids runners. Organizers offer assistance for financial hardship; requests must be made no later than June 26. Registration closes June 26. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
