Intercare Blouberg Marathon
The Intercare Blouberg Marathon is a road running event held in Cape Town, South Africa. The event takes place over two days at Eden on the Bay, offering a variety of distances along the Western Cape coastline. The course is designed to be fast and provides participants with views of the ocean.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 42.2 km Marathon
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10 km Senior and Junior Run
- 5 km Fun Run
The 42.2 km marathon serves as an official qualifying event for both the Comrades Marathon and the Two Oceans Marathon. The 21.1 km half marathon distance hosts the WPA Championships. Specific entry categories are available for junior runners and athletes in the 70 plus age group.
All finishers receive medals upon completing their respective races. Prize money is awarded to winners across all age categories, with additional prize money available for top performers in the WPA Championship half marathon race. Organized by the West Coast Athletic Club, the event requires participants to be licensed or purchase a temporary license. A portion of the entry fee for the 5 km distance is donated to CHOC. Race t-shirts are available for purchase during the entry process, with a limited number provided for the earliest marathon registrants.
