Blazing Trails 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk for Autism
The event on October 4, 2026, is a community 5K run and a 1 mile walk held at Eisenhower Park, Field #2, Parking Lot 2, East Meadow, NY 11554. The 5K course is USATF certified. Net proceeds will benefit the Eden II and Genesis Foundation, a nonprofit that supports programs and services for people with autism in New York.
Race formats and options include:
- 5K run in-person or virtual
- 1 Mile walk untimed in-person
Participants receive a race-themed long-sleeved hoodie and other swag. Personalized bibs are available if registered three weeks in advance. The event provides live, text, and email results, free finish line photos, and same-day video and finish line pictures. Bib pickup for in-person participants is managed by event staff starting one hour before the event; virtual bibs are mailed the Monday prior when applicable.
Event features include a scavenger hunt for in-person and virtual participants, costume contests with gift card prizes in several categories, door prize drawings including multiple bib prizes and a large screen TV grand prize, and snacks and beverages. Awards are given for overall top finishers, non-binary placings, masters, wheelchair, and top three in multiple age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
