Blazing Trails 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk for Autism
Blazing Trails 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk for Autism takes place on October 4, 2026 at Eisenhower Park - Field #2, Parking Lot 2, East Meadow, NY 11554. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation, including a virtual window for 5K results and uploads from October 4 to October 11. The 5K course is USATF certified.

All registered participants receive a race-themed long-sleeved hoodie. Additional event amenities include live results via text and email, free finish line photos, personalized bibs for registrations completed three weeks in advance, and a door prize drawing. A scavenger hunt will run both in-person and virtually. Costume contests award $50 gift cards for best individual, best child, and best duo. Multiple bib door prizes are listed, including a large screen TV grand prize. Snacks and beverages will be available.
Awards are offered for top overall male and female, top two non-binary, top masters (40+), top wheelchair, and top 3 in multiple age groups from 12 & under through 90+. Registration options include in-person or virtual 5K, a 1 mile untimed walk, and a virtual 5K; pricing varies by registration date and options, and GLIRC members receive a $5 discount. Net proceeds will benefit the Eden II & Genesis Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving people with autism in NYC, Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
